#25 Custom Solar Panel Sizing: How to Specify the Right Dimensions
One of the most common questions we receive is how to specify a custom solar panel size. The process is straightforward when you follow the right steps.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Start with the available surface area on your product. Measure the length and width of the space where the panel will be mounted. Step 2: Calculate the maximum number of solar cells that fit in that area. Standard cells are 156×156mm, 125×125mm, or 52×52mm for the smallest panels. Step 3: Determine your required voltage and work backward to find the cell count and wiring configuration.
Size Range
We can produce panels as small as 20×20mm (suitable for compact sensors) or as large as 2000×1500mm (for larger installations). Our most common custom sizes range from 50×50mm to 300×400mm for consumer products.
Getting Started
Send us your mechanical drawing or product enclosure, and our engineering team will design a panel that fits perfectly. We provide CAD files and electrical specifications for your approval before production begins.
