#25 Custom Solar Panel Sizing: How to Specify the Right Dimensions
One of the most common questions we receive is how to specify a custom solar panel size. The process is straightforward when you follow the right steps.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Start with the available surface area on your product. Measure the length and width of the space where the panel will be mounted. Step 2: Calculate the maximum number of solar cells that fit in that area. Standard cells are 156Ă156mm, 125Ă125mm, or 52Ă52mm for the smallest panels. Step 3: Determine your required voltage and work backward to find the cell count and wiring configuration.
Size Range
We can produce panels as small as 20Ă20mm (suitable for compact sensors) or as large as 2000Ă1500mm (for larger installations). Our most common custom sizes range from 50Ă50mm to 300Ă400mm for consumer products.
